Due to recent landslides and earth movement, the cliff path leading from Forelands to the end of Howgate road is closed meaning many of us ramblers are forced to stroll down this road on our walks to Whitecliff, Culver and beyond. the road route is nowhere near as scenic as the cliff path so to help you enjoy the walk I've placed this simple cache to find on route to whatever adventure you may be on.
Don't forget your tweezers!
The cache is attached to private property but there is no need to access the property at all, all can be seen and reached from the pavement. I am the friendly landowner and have my consent.
interesting fact: in 1916 in Howgate Lane (now Howgate Road) a Blenheim Orange and a Newton Wonder (apple trees) were bred together and the infamous Howgate Wonder apple was born.
