This blink-and-you’ll-miss-it turn off from Highway 101 leads to a discrete plaque commemorating the foundation of the Cascade Head Experimental Forest and Scenic Research Area, established in 1976 as part of UNESCO’s program on Man and the Biosphere.

It also offers a lovely view of the Salmon River.
