Land's End Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

END3: Cache would go missing every few weeks or so. Likely a combination of human and environmental variables.

Tribal Dancer: The cache has been there through an entire winter of bad conditions, and has been found by over a dozen people. It has survived being frozen solid, rocked by waves (it was always on the interior of the wall), and swimmers throughout a summer. I'm familiar with various knots, via being a former aerial rescue guide, and each time I went to check the missing cache it appeared the knots had been purposely undone. The exception being the first time where it appeared the entire setup was removed (likely because of the ongoing construction at that time and my bad timing). This was not a poorly thought out spot, or effort. This cache was meant to be a slight challenge, with multiple ways to approach it (ex: walk, swim, kayak, etc). The correct warnings were put in the description to inform anyone that if they wanted to find this cache that they should do so safely, and under the best conditions.

Geocache Description:

This cache may be a challenge to get to given the current available access; may require a water approach or very careful adventuring. There is signage saying no trespassing if you are walking straight up on the pathway. The workers have let me over there every time I asked, and they say the work is pretty much done; they just need to wash away the bird poop. They estimated the main access will officially be open to the public in a few days/weeks/months/years/whenever everyhand involved gives it the thumbs up. I have accessed it a couple other ways that are viable.

Please be careful in bad weather or choose to revisit another day. Avoid trespassing and use alternative means to acquire this cache until the main path opens up soon.

Avoid in winter conditions due to ice. Recommend using ice picks and / or yack track style footwear and exercise caution.

Additional Hints (Decrypt)

Easy to get to by boat or swimming, but leaning over the side close to the final ladder also works. Small container held in place with rope.
