I took a trip to Arnprior in order to find a new cache and ended up finding a new spot to hide one too!
This is a dam fine view, indeed! A beautiful view of the lake and a reminder of how important these bodies of water are to generating a reliable source of electricity.
Lake Madawaska provides the perfect habitat for different species of fish, birds galore (I spotted a Double-crested Cormorant and a Belted Kingfisher in my short time there), and native plants. I'm sure there are a few invasive ones tossed into the mix along the shoreline too. There's a spot where you can launch your watercraft to discover the lake.
If you're lucky you might even be able to spy some parachutists descending from the heavens at the nearby Arnprior Municipal Airport. I wonder if anyone has resorted to making a soft but wet landing in the water!
