Geocache Description:

Cache # 389.

This series of caches are placed along a recently finished section of the "Rail Trail", surprisingly called the Beechworth to Yackandandah Rail Trail.

The trail is in excellent condition with several new bridge crossings and is suitable for cyclists, walkers (with or without their dogs) and of course geocachers.

This undulating trail is about 6km between Britton Lane, east of Yackandandah to Osbornes Flat Community Hall. This is the direction the river flows, but we have provided three parking spots, and the trail can be started from any of these.

The trail travels along the beautiful Yackandandah Creek which flows all year round. This area has natural beauty, as well as historic mining value and lush green rural views.

There is plenty to see on both sides of the trail - lovely water views, mullock heaps, mining shafts, the wall of the water race and a pleasant picnic area (near Yack Track - Loo with a View).

I hope you enjoy your visit to the area.

This is a simple offset multi to draw you to the race/channel/creek to admire the wall and the scenery.  In order to find GZ you will need to do a simple observation and calculation.

How many iron rods are embedded in the boulder.  For South multiply x 20 and for East multiply x 25.

GZ is at S36 18.9XX and E146 53.0XX

You are seeking a small container with log book and pencil but please bring  your own pen in case you need it.
