The Northwest Crossing used to be the sole landmark in an unremarkable part of US25. There were only about four major businesses out here. The location EXPLODED with commerce and traffic in the late 1990's. Schaad Rd and Callahan were widened, and became a major thoroughfare in North Knox County.
The Purple Nugget is placed in honor of many hours spent sitting on purple chairs, eating tacos as a teenager, before everything got really busy.
