The first Hawkesbury library was opened in the year 1938 and was in the basement of the St-Alphonse de Liguori Church that is now the St-Pierre Apôtre Church. In 1967, the library was transferred at the intersection of James Street and Main street. In 1972, the library was closed at the intersection and re-opened where we know it now.

La première bibliothèque d'Hawkesbury fut ouverte en 1938 et était situé dans le sous-sol de leglise St-Alphonse de Liguori qui est maintenant St-Pierre Apôtre . En 1967 la bibliothèque fut transférée aux coins de rue James / rue main pour être finalement ouverte en 1972 à son emplacement actuel.
