You may come across this park in Oneonta and ask yourself "Why is this here?" The park is a lonely green space at the top of Maple street that looks like at one point it was a parking lot. The question I ask is "Where are the maple trees?" With a name like Maple street you always need to guess whether any of the deciduous trees even exist there or not. Maple is like the name Smith in the street name game. With that in mind I encourage you to come to this park, marvel at the trees around you and get a taste for that sweet sap. Extra points if you can spot maple trees around you; no points if you forget a pen.
