La strada che da Paderno si arrampica fin sulla cima del Monte Grappa è nota, soprattutto tra i ciclisti, col curioso nome di "Salto della Capra". Questo appellativo in effetti si accorda bene con la caratteristica effige di una capra sagomata su ferro che si staglia contro il cielo, piantata su un palo, quasi sulla sommità della salita, proprio all'uscita sulla direttrice proveniente dal Monte Tomba.
In origine questa strada era una antica mulattiera, poi riadattada a strada carrabile durante la grande guerra e adesso completamente asfaltata. Deve la sua fama tra il popolo dei ciclisti proprio grazie alle sue micidiali pendenze, tanto da essere spesso considerata il “Mortirolo del Veneto”...
La cache è nascosta al termine della salita, proprio in corrispondenza della "capra" che da il nome alla salita.
Il modesto rating D/T di questa cache tiene conto che può essere facilmente raggiunta in macchina, se però voleste arrivarci in bici (auguri!) credo sarebbe opportuno considerare il punteggio "T" almeno a livello quattro...
Il contenitore è di dimensioni micro e al suo interno troverete solamente il logbook. Portate con voi una penna e buona caccia!
The jump of the goat
The road that climbs from Paderno to the top of Monte Grappa is known, especially among cyclists, with the curious name of "Salto della Capra" ("jump of the goat"). This name actually agrees well with the characteristic effigy of a goat shaped on iron that stands out against the sky, planted on a pole, almost on the top of the climb, right at the exit on the route coming from Monte Tomba.
Originally this road was an ancient mule track, which was then adapted to a carriage road during the Great War and now completely asphalted. It owes its fame among the cyclist population thanks to its deadly slopes, so much so that it is often considered the "Mortirolo of Veneto" ...
The cache is hidden at the end of the climb, right next to the "goat" that gives the name to the climb.
The modest D / T rating of this cache takes into account that it can be easily reached by car, but if you want to get there by bike (congratulations!) I think it would be appropriate to consider the "T" score at least at level four ...
The container is micro-sized and inside you will find only the logbook. Bring a pen and good hunting!
