A pochi passi dal Municipio e dalla Biblioteca, sorge Villa Besozzi Casati, uno dei palazzi storici di Cologno Monzese. La villa faceva parte dell'incastellemento di Cologno, di proprietà fin dal medioevo dei monaci del Monastero di Sant'Ambrogio di Milano. L'edificio, edificato sul basamento di un'antica casa-forte, inizia ad assumere l'aspetto attuale nel corso del XVI secolo quando l'area fu acquistata dai nobili Besozzi. Nel 1798 il conte Antonio Besozzi a causa di grossi debiti, si vide costretto a vendere l’intero patrimonio fondiario ed immobiliare sul territorio di Cologno a Gaspare Casati, padre di Gabrio Casati, il cui figlio Luigi Agostino, senatore del Regno, fu sindaco di Cologno dal 1874 al 1882, carica ricoperta pure dal figlio Gabrio per due legislature, dal 1894 al 1908.

A few steps away from the Town Hall and the Library, stands Villa Besozzi Casati, one of the historic buildings of Cologno Monzese. The villa was part of the Cologno castle, owned since the Middle Ages by the monks of the Monastery of Sant'Ambrogio in Milan. The building, built on the base of an ancient fortified house, began to take on its present appearance during the 16th century when the area was purchased by the Besozzi family. In 1798 Count Antonio Besozzi, due to large debts, was forced to sell the entire land and real estate assets in the Cologno area to Gaspare Casati, father of Gabrio Casati, whose son Luigi Agostino, senator of the Kingdom, was mayor of Cologno from 1874 to 1882, a position also held by his son Gabrio for two terms, from 1894 to 1908.
