This cache is a tribute to the rock band Led Zeppelin. Formed in 1968 in England Led Zeppelin was comprised of guitarist Jimmy Page, Vocalist Robert Plant, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer John Bonham. After Page and guitarist Jeff Beck's band the Yardbirds fell apart, Page tried to reform as The New Yardbirds, but was blocked by the record label. Legend is members of The Who joked any band with Beck and Page would go up like a lead balloon with fans. The band adopted Led Zeppelin as a joke and it stuck, they even used a crashing burning Hindenburg zeppelin on their debut album cover to continue the joke. Unlike a lead balloon the band would go on to record some of the greatest songs in rock history including whole lotta love, black dog, stairway to heaven, kashmir, ramble on, good times bad times, the immigrant song and many more. Led Zep combined a love for the blues with a strong interest in fantasy and mythology in their music and lyrics. Unfortunately Bonham died in 1980 and the band never really did much after this time.
