Geocache Description:

A simple & quirky cache and dash at the start af a Public Bridleway that cuts through from Broad Lane to Aspley Heath Lane. Those of you that have done my Bromsgrove loop won't have any problems finding this one. I found this discarded "host" lying in a pile of rubbish  when I was out on a walk once and knew it would come in handy and could be recycled into a cache, so that's what I've done.

There is ample parking off the road near GZ. There is a gate to a field here, but you should only be here a couple of minutes, but if you park consideratly, the gate won't be blocked off by your temporarily parked vehicle.

I have been meaning to place this cache here for ages, so thought I'd better get a move on before someone else pipped me to it.

In the bit of land behind the cache, (but a bit further along the Bridleway on the right), there is, what once was, the concrete slab of a house that was being built here. I'm guessing the land owner/builder either didn't have the appropriate planning permission to build the house here, or ran out of money? I say that because the deveopment never went any higher than the concrete slab and damp coarse and the building work came to a sudden holt and it was abandoned. As kid of about 8 or 9, it was the perfect place for me and my mates (yes, I had some back then) to meet up after school on our Grifter bikes or a bicycle pieced together from several others with massive "Cow Horn" handle bars. We built sturdy dens here made from the concrete blocks and buildiing bricks that were just left lying around. We'd spend hours here until it was time to go home. No mobile phones back then, or iPads, Xbox's or Playstations to keep you indoors. You went out and made your own entertainment.

Anyway, have fun. The bridleway can get muddy, so don't get wearing your best shoes.
