CACHE IS NOT AT POSTED COORDINATES- Follow instructions below!
**UV FLASHLIGHT REQUIRED FOR THIS CACHE**
The Kraken has been released from the depths of the sea, and has been spotted frequenting a dark cave near the cliffs above the deep "ocean" below.
This monster has a letterbox in it's clutches, said to contain mysterious treasures and stolen correspondance, hidden away.
The Capn and crew have stumbled upon the Kraken's secret location and have found a giant pile of stolen letters!
What are they?? Love letters to the Kraken's lady-squid? Top Secret recipes for the latest deadly inks? Curses written in bizarre cyphers, to torment the dead pirates kept down in Davy Jones' Locker? We can only guess at what this hoard of letters contains. Likely disturbing, surely dark. The Kraken's most deadly weapon, no doubt.
The pirate-crew has left a secret trail to it for you to follow. If you can hunt and find the Krakens' letterbox, you can steal one of his letters for yourself too. But upon reading, don't say we didn't warn you. It will be painful.
Be sure to stamp your book with the Kraken's Stamp but DO NOT TAKE THE STAMP WITH YOU, lest you yourself be cursed and pummeled down into Davy Jones' Locker!
The Capn's directions are below. Follow them carefully and good luck!
1. Starting point coordinates at trailhead. You will be at the top of some questionably unsafe stairs. Go down them. Carefully.
2. Once at the bottom, take 8 more paces (following the trail) then turn to your right and cross over the large boulder-pit to arrive at a sign; "Grohman Boulders".
3. Facing the sign, turn to your left and walk up the trail and over the rocky hill, about 40 paces. The trail will slope down near the end, and you may need to slide (or hop) down the boulders a bit. You will arrive close to an overlook with a scenic view of the "vast ocean" below.
4. Head to the right for 20 paces, following the steep rock trail downward. It will then become dirt, veering to the left to continue downhill.
5. Head down. You'll pass a fallen tree on your left, and when you get to the end of the tree where it broke off, you'll see a LARGE CAVE beneath an enormous boulder. A sign atop the boulder will read: "CAVE".
6. Head down and ENTER the cave. Don't be spotted by The Kraken. Or muggles. Now whip out your trusty UV FLASHLIGHT to help you see in the dark crevices, The Capn has left a secret code for you, to aid in finding the Kraken's hidden letterbox. Be sure to check in all the cracks and caverns where it's the darkest.
7. Once the clue has been located, proceed to the final hiding spot. (You'll need to leave the cave the way you came in.)
8. The Kraken has a hoard of letters in its letterbox. What dark secrets are enclosed within these letters?? Take ONE for yourself, and find out.
