This is a bonus cache that you can find once you've completed the Poetic Romsey Adventure Lab.
We've included some parking options, but there are many others you can choose from in the town.
Depending on the time of year / recent weather conditions, it could be wet and muddy on the walk to the final location, so appropriate footwear may be required.
As the Adventure Lab requires you to find two answers (one location based, one from some nearby poetry) for the first 4 locations, the geofence is quite generous. As such, the app will 'spring into life' showing you the question a long way before the location's coordinates. To find the location based answer you will need to get to 'GZ' first before searching for it.
Once you have completed the 5th and final location in the Adventure Lab, you will be provided with a formula that will enable you to find this bonus cache. Due to the way the app works, you will need to ‘View 5 journal entries’ from the main screen and swipe over to the last one to see this.
Whilst completing the Adventure Lab, you need to keep an eye out for poetry on plaques that are either on pavements, paths or walls. You need to record numbers associated with the excerpts of the poems shown below. You need to look carefully for the poems as you proceed, especially in autumn when some on the paths may be covered by leaves. Some of them can also be quite difficult to read in the wet. Please note that poem 13 has been removed, so don't waste your time looking for it!
It is important to follow the instructions in the 'Location Completion Message' after successfully finding each stage of the Adventure Lab, especially when walking from The War Horse to the Japanese Field Gun - if you follow the arrow on the compass you will miss some poetry required to find this bonus cache.
In all cases, use the digital root of the number you find (e.g. to work out the digital root of 46, first add the digits, 4+6=10, then add the digits in this answer, 1+0=1, so the digital root is 1):
A - And laughs the immortal river still…
B - People say: OH! AAH! And wow!
C - It is enough for me to contemplate…
D - Our glorious Test, our history, Pulsating thro’ village, town and city to stay.
E - They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
F - If sunlight fell like snowflakes…
G - This garden of Eden, we know as our earth.
Please note that these excertps do not appear in order as you proceed through the Adventure Lab, so you'll have to read each poem you come across carefully.
Once you have all of the digital roots of the numbers associated with poems A-G, use these with the formula that you recieved on completion of the 5th stage of the Adventure Lab to find this bonus cache.
