This is a tribute cache to a popular geocacher - "Griffo" who unexpectedly passed away in April 2019 whilst on a trekking holiday in Nepal. He was an avid hiker and traveller who loved the beauty of the earth and especially the majestic Himalayan mountains.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Jane, his loving children and the caching community.
Paul started geocaching in October 2005 and chalked up 5,897 finds up to April 2019. He cached in 9 countries including 23 states of the USA and found caches in all 8 states and territories of Australia. He completed his D/T grid and had an impressive average D/T of 1.82/1.81 which indicated that he liked doing the tougher and more adventurous caches.
This cache has been placed by a group from the Mid North Coast Mob, who have received permission from Paul's wife Jane to place it in his honour. The themed cache container would have pleased Griffo which is protected from the weather by an outer covering.
The track to the cache can be driven on by a 2wd although after heavy rain large puddles form and it can become a bit slippery.
