Daytime caching only please! This cache is located within and operated by Seneca Lake State Park which is closed after dark. Abuse of this rule will cause the park to remove this and any other geocaches. Thank you for your understanding.
The cache gets its name from the interesting tree nearby. (BTW: Tree climbing is not permitted in the park. Please do not climb the trees!) The tree has been in this state for a few years now and you can see that it is trying to adapt to the situation. In the end, it's a contest of strength vs. gravity with wind, water, and growth all adding to the battle.
Pleae use the footpath to get close to the cache. The area between the cache and the road can get very wet at times so it's best to use the trail to navigate around the soup.
The cache is a smallish screw-top container covered in camo tape. It is big enough for some swag and contains pencils, log sheet, swag coins, and a small reward for the FTF. Please replace the cache exactly as you found it. The area has a bit of foot traffic and is visible from the highway so keep your eye out for muggles.
