The Tedesco Environmental Learning Corridor is an exquisitely designed 37 acre park nestled in the middle of the ISU Research Park. The park started out as badly silted and eroded crop land. The area was sculpted into a collection of ponds, wetlands, prairie, classrooms, walking paths, bridges, streams, stepping stones and more.
It serves as a hub for bike paths too. A short connector path at the NE corner connects to Ames bike paths via the Airport Road bike path. A long connector reaches county road R 38. The R38 bike lane connects to both the Heart of Iowa and High Trestle bike trails in Slater.
The cache is a small well camouflaged container in the NE corner of the park. Take a short stroll and enjoy the park; the cache is a pleasant walk from the main entrance.
The cache is difficult to see. Reading the hint is a good idea.
TELC is managed by Story County Conservation. Their web page has a map of the park and the impressive story of this park. They are rightfully proud of the TELC.
