Dieser Cache bringt dich zu einem der schönsten Plätze in Wien und zu einer der schönsten Kirchen.
Die Kirche
Der Name der Kirche – Maria Treu - bezieht sich auf das Josefstädter Gnadenbild Maria Treu, das anlässlich der Pestepidemie 1713 von Josef Herz gemalt wurde.
Die Kirche wurde von 1698 bis 1719 als Ordenskirche der Piaristen errichtet, die in der Josefstadt auch ein Gymnasium unterhielten.
Papst Pius XII. erhob die Kirche 1949 in den Rang einer Basilica minor.
Wer Zeit hat - und wenn die Kirche offen ist - sollte unbedingt auch einen Sprung in die Kirche schauen. (linken Seiteneingang benutzen) Vor allem die wunderschönen Fresken von Anton Maulbertsch und das Gnadenbild sind äußerst sehenswert!
Die Piaristen
Der Piaristenorden wurden 1617 gegründet und ist der älteste katholische Orden, der sich der Ausbildung widmet. Der Orden legte den Grundstein zur Entwicklung moderner Europäischer Schulsysteme, indem er frei zugängliche Ausbildung für Kinder aller sozialer Schichten anbot, was zu dieser Zeit komplett neu war. Die ersten Piaristenpater kamen 1695 nach Wien.
Heutzutage gibt es Ordensniederlassungen in 19 Ländern der Welt. Es werden 197 Schulen, 138 Pfarren und zwei Universitäten betreut – manche von Ihnen in den ärmsten Ländern der Welt. Daher ist das Ziel des Ordens nach wie vor das gleiche geblieben.

Wie heißt der Gründer des Piaristenordens? In welchem Land wurde er geboren? Wie lautet die (Telefon-)Ländervorwahl dieses Landes? (B)
Frage 3:
An der Fassade der Kirche seht ihr ein Wappen mit einem Hut und Quasten. Dieses Wappen ist jenes eines Klerikers. Wieviele Quasten zählst du? (C)
Frage 4:
Als Geocacher brauchst du viele Talente um die Rätsel zu lösen und die Caches zu finden. Jeder Mensch hat verschiedene Fähigkeiten. Schau in die Bibel zu Mt 25,14-30 – da geht es um einen Mann der Talente (eigentlich eine antike Währung, hier wohl zweideutig zu verstehen) an seine Diener zu verteilen, damit sie daraus etwas machen. Wieviele Talente verteilt der Herr an seine Diener? (D)

Maria Treu Cache (English Version)
This cache takes you to one of the most beautiful places in Vienna and to one of the most beautiful churches.
The church
The name of the church – Maria Treu (translated: Mary faithful) – relates to the altarpiece of St. Mary which was painted in 1713 by Josef Herz during a plague epidemic. The church was constructed from 1698 to 1719 to serve as fraternity church of the Piarist Order, which also operated a secondary school at this place.
In 1949 Pope Pius XII. Promoted its status to a “Basilica minor”.
We highly recommend – if you have time and the church is open - to also go inside. (use left side entrance) Especially the outstanding ceiling fresco painted by Anton Maulbertsch and the altarpiece are worth to visit!
The Piarist Order
The Piarist Order was founded in 1617 and is the oldest religious order dedicated to education. The order laid the foundation for modern education systems in European countries, based on free education for all children regardless of their social background, which was totally new at this time. The first Piarist fathers came to Vienna in 1695.
Nowadays the Piarist Order has branches in 19 countries all over the world operating 197 schools, 138 parishes and two Universities - Some of them in the poorest countries in the world. So the goal of the order remains the same after all these years.

The Cache
The header coordinates guide you to the square in front of the church and directly to the cache location. The cache is secured by a four digit number lock. To get the numbers, needed to open the lock, you will have to answer the following questions:

Question 3:
On the front of the church you’ll see an emblem with a hat and a lot of tassels. These are the signs of a cleric. How many tassels do you count? (C)
Question 4:
As geocaching member you’ll need a lot of talents to solve the puzzles and find the caches. Every human is blessed with different talents. Have a look into the bible, at Mt 25,14-30 there is a story of a man distributing Talents (which was an ancient currency) to his servants. The servants shall use these talents (in an ambiguous meaning) to increase wealth. How many talents does the man distribute to his servants? (D)
