Caledonia, the Houston County seat has a storied history and several claims to fame. You can read about the amazing Earthwalkers on some signs at the North Park in Caledonia (across the highway). The people in this town are very proud of their Champion high school football team with a record 71 game winning streak (cut short by COVID in 2020) to be continued next year. Caledonia usually sponsors summer open air concerts, a Hot Air Balloon Rally, Winter Parade, and a top-notch Fair among other events. Last but not least, it's the Wild Turkey Capital of MN because of great hunting areas in this region of MN. Deer hunting and trout fishing are also very popular.
The cache is accessed by driving into the beautiful and quiet Sprague Woods access road. There are several other geocaches on the Sprague Woods trails, but you don't have to enter the woods to find this cache. Don't attempt to cross the highway from the North Park. Instead, drive on Hwy 76 and then turn onto Woodside Lane. The cache is a shiny bison tube that should be pretty easy to find. This is City Property and permission was given a few years ago to place caches here.
