This collection of caches has nothing to do with the Church Micro series in the UK. Given that the Australian 2016 census indicates that No Religion and Jedi Knight are the fastest increasing classifications of the optional religion question "What is the person's religion?" it is not surprising that there is surfeit of empty churches that have been repurposed.

This building was originally the Cheltenham Congregational Church. In 1975, the church building became a Community Centre and is getting a great deal of use these days, most days for a wide variety of activities if the Community Board is anything to go by. Like what seems to be common in the early days, this church began life as a wood and iron structure, opening 29 March,1913.
“Sir Sidney Kidman . . . said it was gratifying to know the church was sufficiently prosperous to need a new building. The structure he was about to declare open was a worthy addition to those which had earned Adelaide its title of ‘The City of Churches’ . . . The new church, which is of brick, is on the corner of Stroud street and adjourns the old galvanized iron structure.” [Register]
