Welcome to Dan's Emerald Forest. How did a front yard full of model trains get here? I will let him explain:
" Back in 1996 when this all started, all I was planning to do was re-landscape my front lawn, by removing two mid sized messy trees, add a few rocks and flower beds. Even install a waterfall where my steps used to be. So when I thought of the garden trains, well I guess the rest is history, wouldn't you say? "
This is truly a delight to be seen, especially around the holidays, when the whole area is decked out in festive lighting. If Dan is out and about (which he usually is when the trains are running), have a chat with him! He is very amiable and he will explain everything and anything in detail about his setup!
It started with him pulling up some trees and building a waterfall coming out of where his front steps were. Then he added a train. And then another train. Soon, he had tracks going all around the front yard, over the waterfall, around a town replete with buildings and people and even a drive-in movie theater which sometimes has an actual movie playing!
Please stay on the sidewalk to gather your answers. There is no need to go onto the property - all information required to find the final can be gathered right from the sidewalk.
Here is the way to the final:
Using these:
A = Number of truss bridges over the waterfall
B = Number of poles in the first row of the drive in (on the far right)
C = Number of poles in the second row of the drive in
D = Number of poles in the third row of the drive in
E = number of windows on one side of the church (either side - they are both the same)
F = Number of circular windows on the church
If the Church is covered (as it sometimes is during the winter), you can substitute the number of REAL trees in the yard for E (none of the plastic play trees set up for the model train.) Also note that te drive in MAY NOT have the movie screen set up or any cars in the drive-in, but the "pins" for the parking spots will always be there.
