Welcome to Alamance County's newest natural area, opened May of 2020. Cane Creek Mountains Natural Area is a new nature park that provides public access to Alamance County’s largest state-significant natural heritage area. Hikers will enjoy rolling piedmont hills, abundant creeks and streams, and some of the best views in the County. The natural area is home to the highest peak in North Carolina east of Greensboro at 987 feet. The park is currently a work in progress, with additional trails & ammenities planned, but at this time does contain a 2.5 mile loop. Trailhead is accessed from the parking lot at the end of the gravel drive.
Placed this near the highest point in the park, and apparently you find a higher point farther east. Without leaves on the trees, you can in fact see a pretty good distance. You're looking for a well camo'd small sized container.
