Geocache Description:

Follow the asphalt path under the trees until you reach the cyclone fence.

Then look in the fence pole furthest right for the geocache.

The area where you are is the site of the former Wooden Trestle Lincoln Highway Bridge that went over the railroad.

The Lincoln Highway was proclaimed the nation’s first coast-to-coast highway in 1913. It connected New York City with San Francisco, crossing twelve states and spanning 2,300 miles. The Lincoln Highway was created by an association of automobile enthusiasts and manufacturers who mapped connecting roadways across the country.

In 1927, the Lincoln Highway was realigned to follow a route now paralleled by I-80 through Davis, Vallejo, and Berkeley, where a ferry took Lincoln Highway drivers to San Francisco.

Please do not remove little stamp or ink pad. They're not geoswag.

As always please try to use stealth to preserve the hide for as long as possible. Also, please be careful and gentle with the geocache so that many fellow geocachers can experience this cache.

Bring your own signing/stamping utensil.

Happy Caching!
