Geocache Description:

The Rotary Bark Park is a 97-acre park with numerous trails for all to enjoy.  The caches are named for the trail they are near.

Coordinates in this area can be very "jumpy"; that's when your geosenses need to kick in.

If you park along the road, please pull all the way off the road and stay safe.  Parking option at N47 20.996 W122 37.301

Recommend you take the trail for runners, cyclists and horses.  Also I'd recommend you take a photo of the trail map as reference if needed.

Due to the challenging GPS signals at GZ, I changed this to a letter box hybrid!

1.  Walk along the trail to the west of the dog park; this trail is outside of the dog park.

2.  Start the letter box from the SW corner of the dog park (there is a gated entrance here), walk southwest about 210 feet (used my GPS).

3.  You will come to the intersection of the "F" trail; take the trail at the fork to the right (west).  Go a little over 200 feet.

4.  You should be at another "Y" intersection (no name).  Go to the left (south) about 15 feet.  Go into the woods, to the south (left), you should see 2 trees that are about 10-12 inches in diameter.  At the base they are about 10 inches apart.  Walk to the south side of these 2 trees.

5.  Stand with your back to these trees and walk south about 14 steps.  Look down and you should see mossy covered branches and ground.  There should be an ammo can hidden in this area!

6.  If you went to a broken cluster of low branches, you have gone about 4 steps too far!

Stamp, pad and letterbox log is ready for you!  The letterbox log with "letterbox"; ithe bag also contains the stamp and ink is marked.

Approval for this geocache was provided by the PenMet Parks Department at 253-858-3400.

8 January 2021 Out for a walk along the trails today to check on my caches.  This one was in good condition; nice and dry.  Thanks to those who have found this cache and help it to be well covered.

I came from the India Trail cache and wanted to provide letterbox directions from that direction also.  From the intersection near the India Trail cache, walk east about 0.12.  At the intersection, take the trail to the left (north) and go about 64 paces.  Then turn over your right shoulder and you should see the 2 trees mentioned in the letter box directions from the dog park.  Go into the woods, to the south (left), you should see 2 trees that are about 10-12 inches in diameter.  At the base they are about 10 inches apart.  Walk to the south side of these 2 trees. Stand with your back to these trees and walk south about 14 steps.  Look down and you should see mossy covered branches and ground.  There should be an ammo can hidden in this area!   If you went to a broken cluster of low branches, you have gone about 4 steps too far!

Good luck! and happy caching.
