Este espacio abierto, que ha sido y sigue siendo lugar de encuentro de vecinos satauteños, actos festivos, reuniones, entre otros aspectos de la vida vecinal del municipio, fue creada en 1885 nombrada como Plaza de León y Castillo. En ella se asienta la majestuosa iglesia matriz del municipio, del cual se disfruta de unos inigualables parajes del las vegas fértiles y las cumbres de la Isla, que de siempre ha permitido al satauteño comprender la importancia el paisaje en la Villa, así como la evolución del mismo. De corte irregular, esta plaza alberga una cruz de piedra y esculturas de bronces. Rodeada del embrujo de las calles del casco urbano, solitarias, silenciosas y llenas de historia, se erigen las viviendas más históricas del lugar que fueron estableciéndose sobre las vértebras de crecimiento primordial que parten del punto central que es la Plaza y la Iglesia del municipio que sufrió un incendio que acabó con su artesonado.

This open space, which has been and continues to be a meeting place for residents of Sataute, festive events, meetings, among other aspects of the neighborhood life of the municipality, was created in 1885 named Plaza de León y Castillo.
