Come spend a night at the Heaphy!
Heaphy hut is at the end of a 5 hour walk from Kohaihai river carpark (see the parking waypoint). Make it easy by doing it as an overnighter. It is a mostly flat route with one small hill near the car park end. The route to Heaphy hut is easy with cycle quality track.
You will need full tramping kit (clothes for hot/cold/dry/wet weather, food, water, sleepting bag), although the hut does have matresses and gas burners.

I will be walking the Heaphy track from Brown's hut, staying there on the night of 9-10 Feb. You are most welcome to join me for the full trip, or just meet up for an overnighter at Heaphy hut. I am flying in to the start of the track and out from the end, so sorry, I cannot help with transportation.
