Carpinteria has become a Family Favorite place to visit lately, and as we've been coming up more often, we've been exploring the different nooks and crannies of the World's Safest Beach. Our friends sent us to this new site and we had to plant a cache here for a couple reasons:
1) City Historical Landmark #5 is amazing but not something you can see until you're right in front of it. Take some time to read the marker description and try to picture Portolá being amazed and enchanted by the Chumash...if you know your history, that might be tough to do though.
2) We are always looking for reasons to come back up to Carpinteria, so I'm hoping this cache needs constant maintenance. 😀
You can park a car close to GZ or add this on to a walk around the neighborhood. You'll need to do a little digging around off of paved paths, so you might want more than flip flops.
I've never learned that lesson though, so hopefully you're more sensible.
You do NOT need to do serious bushwhacking, but at times you may need to expand your search by 25 feet...coordinates can be a bit jumpy…the ancient spirit of this tree really enjoys messing with you…
Seriously. Let me know if the log is damp. Or the camouflage needs rearranging. Or if there are too many spider webs. I'll get right on it. Please. I love it here.
