This Geocache has a veiw of the Shiplake War Memorial. The cross was erectied in a prominent postion on the main road between Reading and Henley in the 1920s to commemorate Shiplake's sacrifice in World War One. Later a plaque was added on the other side to commemorate those lost in World War Two. There is still an Act Of Remembrance here at noon on Remembrance Sunday each year (the 11 o'clock silence is observed along the road at Shiplake Church).
The cache is hidden one side of the triangular green, behind a fraction. There are lots of Muggles.
PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL AS THERE ARE BUSY ROADS ALL AROUND.
