Geocache Description:

Stratton Woods Park . . . so peaceful and calm. That is, it was before I entered the scene. Now it has geocachers running all over the place trying to find the multiple geocaches hidden there. It went from one to four geocaches like that. Alas, this will be the last geocache in this park, and now that it is published, I shall leave this park alone. Think of it as a finale. There are four geocaches for the four corners of the park, three of which mine. I had placed the other two on the east side of the park, so I thought I'd even it out and place one here since the western side seemed a little bare.

I used to have a geacache on the west side, it was called Camouflage Cache #1: Let's go into the Bog! (GC8Y9YD). That has been made a stage here in this multi. I was wandering in the park, well, walking the dog, when I saw a little something, or should I say a big something, and I thought to myself, that would be a perfect host for a specific container I have, I just need to place it there. Yet that spot was too close to Camouflage Cache #1: Let's go into the Bog!, and I wanted to keep that cache. But such was my mania (anyone get the movie quote) to place my container in this spot, I did the only thing I could, I archived Camouflage Cache #1: Let's go into the Bog! and made it one of the stages.

I was originally just going to be a 2 stage multi, with Camouflage Cache #1: Let's go into the Bog! as the first, and then the final. I was out today, going to place the stages, when I happened on another host. If you've been reading this, you know I can't pass up a good host, so I ended up not placing the containers that day and going back home to get a third container for this other spot, which became S1. That is the story of how this 3 stage multi came to exist.

This is all probably very confusing, since it is confusing to me as I type it. It's just hard to tell the story without giving too much away and spoiling the adventure. Just go out there and have a good time.

Update 9/3/21: The "v" talked about in the hint for the Final is no longer a "v" since 1/2 of it fell off. It is now a "\".

Update 10/13/21: The other half has now fallen so the "\" is now a ".".

A few recommendations/awknowledgments:

  • Bring bug spray.
  • I do not recommend going out there after a heavy rain.*(Especially since that is what I did when I placed the containers and my socks were soaked and shoes got quite muddy. Granted, I mistakenly wore sneakers and not boots. The point is, this area can flood.) If you do go after a rainfall, bring boots, that is why I chose the "may require wading attribute". Otherwise, the area is usually dry.

* It has been said that, if properly prepared, going during a heavy rain, or right after, can make it even more fun!

  • To get to the last stage, there is a bit of a field puzzle, but not anything convoluted, and you don't need to bring any extra supplies or tools to solve it.
  • Bring Trackables, and stuff to trade for SWAG!  ;)
  • When trading, please trade evenly or up, according to the value and size of thing being traded. The container started with 10 pieces of SWAG, large and small.
  • This cache has been placed with FCPA permission, and in accordance with FCPA geocaching regulations. Please no night caching.

There are picnic tables and a grill nearby, various courts, and most importantly, other geocaches, so have fun!

Congratulations go to frumiousb and gol1ttle10 for the FTF!
