Geocache Description:

Welcome to Cedar Springs!  Another Michigan small town that has been included in a Geocaching Adventure.  At the posted coordinates you won't find a cache but you will find a very interesting place to visit. The Cedar Springs Post is a weekly community newspaper. The area covered includes Courtland/Oakfield Townships, Nelson Township, Village of Sand Lake, Solon Township, Algoma Township, The City of Cedar Springs, Trufant and Gowan. The Post is the legal newspaper of record for Solon Township, Spencer Township, Nelson Township, City of Cedar Springs, Cedar Springs Public Schools, and the Village of Sand Lake.

The greater Cedar Springs area is 12 to 15 miles north of Grand Rapids and is largely a suburban community, many of whose residents work in Grand Rapids. Growth in the area is explosive. Property values have tripled in five years. The area is now home to over 40,000 people.

The final coordinates to this cache can be found by completing the puzzle information below.  All of this information can be found at the posted coordinates.

We're going to make some observations, and some math.  Hopefully, it won't be to difficult.
To the North coordinates, subtract the following (.ABC)

A) Find the graphic for "The Post".  How many letters would describe it?
B) How sides are there on the vent at the peak of the facade divided by the number of porch lights?
C) What is the sum of the digits in the street address?
Checksum = 18

To get the West coordinates, add the following (.EFG)

E) What is the first digit in the street address?
F) What is the sum of the digits in the street adress minus the number of letter in the street name?
G) How many windows on the building face the street minus how many doors are there?
Checksum = 12

Good luck and Happy Trails!

It seems my observations are not the same as the first seeker's observations, so this might help, if you can figure it out.

This cache belongs to a small series of Adventure Caches highlighting some of the local flavor of Cedar Springs.  There is also an Adventure Lab here with a Bonus Cache.  You can find the Bonus cache either by completing the Adventure Lab, or using the clues that can be found in the caches in this series.

The original plan was to have each of these Mystery caches to be “Bonus” Caches to the nearby Adventure.  However, you cannot have a cache dependent on another, which is dependent on another.  So, I had to quickly change the plans and didn’t do enough double checking on my math, coordinates, and observations.  Special thanks for Team RDC and Team Fly&Friend for their persistence and efforts to figure out what lurks in the recesses of my mind.
