Gourock Park
(Darroch Park)
Gourock Park (originally Darroch Park) lies a half-mile (0.8 km) south southeast of the town centre. Duncan Darroch, who made his fortune in Jamaica, bought the lands and the mansion (constracted in 1747) from the Stewarts of Castlemilk in 1784. This house was demolished in the mid-20th century and the land around it given to the town as Darroch Park. A walled garden remains, and other facilities include a pet's corner, bowling club, tennis courts, two grass football pitches, a cricket square, and pavilion with changing facilities.
The cache hided nearest of the Darroch Mausoleum.
This park is a good chance to take a nice walk. Do not miss to visit the Bunny Park at the south side.
