Geocache Description:

The cache is not located at the posted coordinates
but that is where you will find what you need
to solve the codes below.

With ornate rooms designed to meticulously replicate historic periods and decorations riddled with arcane symbols, the Scottish Rite Temple here in Guthrie, Oklahoma, is one of the largest Masonic complexes in the world. Completed in 1923 for around $3 million, it is both a monument to the oil boom and the influence of the Masons in the state.

Its history goes back to 1889, when the cornerstone for the first Masonic structure in Guthrie was placed. After achieving statehood in 1907, Oklahoma first had its capital in Guthrie before it was relocated to Oklahoma City, and the original legislative hall (East Annex) was later acquired by the Masons for their new temple. Although the original Convention Hall is now connected to the 1923 complex, it is still preserved in much the same condition as when it was finished in 1908. See the Guthrie Scottish Rite Temple website for more history of this temple. The Scottish Rite Temple is listed in the National Register of Historic Places (NR 87000503).

How To Get Coords For Stage 2

In order to solve this simple two-stage multi, you will need to visit the posted coordinates. Here you will see 6 large columns adorning the top of the stairs in the front of the building (pictured above).

  • When facing the building and counting left to right, number the pillars from 1 to 6.
  • At the base of each of these pillars, you will find symbols in the stone work.
  • In order to solve for the missing coordinates (A - F below), you will need to locate each of the symbols below on one of the 6 pillars.
  • Whatever pillar you find the symbol on, write down that pillar number.
  • Example: Two symbols found on the 1st pillar ==> 1 + 1 = 2.
  • For each of the letters A - F, you will have two symbols that you will need to add together their column number to get a single digit.
  • I have provided a checker if you would like to verify your answer before going after the cache.
