Geocache Description:

This cache is named for our youngest son who is known in the Geocaching world as Buster Lloyd (a name taken from his favourite TV show)  'Buster' was 4 years old when this was hidden and he's a big fan of Geocaching.

The cache is located near the summit of Cruach Mor Dunardry which at 214m offers amazing 360º views of Argyll and beyond.  The prominence of the hill is only 62m so the ascent required will vary, depending on which parking place you choose.

On early OS Maps, the hill is simply called Dunardry which is an anglicised form of the gaelic Dun Ard Righ which would translate as Fort of the High King or High Fort of Kings. Cruach Mor appears as an additional name on later maps.  Cruach is a gaelic word meaning 'stack' or 'heap' and is often used for hills which resemble stacks of things like peat for example.  Modern maps name the hill Cruach Mor Dunardry but there is no evidence of a fort on or near the site.

Despite this potential lack of a fort, the short walk up here is definitely worth it for the stunning views. Especially on the clearest days when you can see Ben Mor on Mull, the Paps of Jura and even Glen Etive and some Glencoe mountains on the best days.  Closer views include the Crinan Canal, the River Add Estuary, Dunadd and Kilmartin Glen.  For such an unassuming hill from the road, the rewards for visiting the top are truly amazing.

To find the cache, continue about 20 paces (depending on how long your legs are!) on the track beyond the summit/trig point and look to your left. Please take care not to disturb the surroundings and to replace as found.  This area has high muggle potential in summer which is why the cache itself is not right at the summit.

Cache contents when hidden:

Log Book and Pencil. A brand new pair of kids 3 in 1 'magic' gloves. A kids puzzle book. Small rubber train toy. "I'm The Boss" badge. A pair of walking boot laces. Green 'bat and ball' toy.

Cache is approx 8x6 inch plastic tupperware type box.
