The YMCA was founded in 1844 by Sir George Williams in London, to develop a health “body, mind and spirit.” Now it’s based in Switzerland, with more than 54 million beneficiaries in 120 countries.
The local Williamsport YMCA was formed in 1866 and has grown rapidly over the years. In 2004 the Bradford County YMCA became a “branch” of the Williamsport YMCA. In 2006 as other communities were seeking to be included, the River Valley Regional YMCA was established to allow for this expansion.
The “Y” moved from its location at 320 Elmira Street to the present location, where this cache is hidden in January 2015.
Plenty of parking available but be aware of muggles and traffic, which can be very heavy at times. Bring your own pen!
