Flag of Cape Verde
In 1992, the Flag of Cape Verde was approved having a blue sheet and three stripes in white and red colors. The Cape Verde flag features ten five-pointed stars arranged in a circle at the center towards the left side of the flag.
The ring of ten yellow five-pointed stars in the midpoint of the red band and then located three-eighths of the length of the flag from the hoist side. History of Cape Verde Flag
Before freedom from Portugal, Cape Verde did not have an authorized flag, and the Portuguese national flag was castoff. In the late 1960s, a flag for the Portuguese external province of Cape Verde was planned, consisting of the flag of Portugal with the defense from the provincial arms supplementary to the lower fly. However, this flag was never accepted.
The original national flag of Cape Verde was presented on independence in 1975. It used the common African colors of red, green and yellow, and was indistinguishable to the flag of Guinea-Bissau but for the sizes and the charge in the hoist-side band. Their similarity evoked the plans to marry both countries, however, were uncontrolled shortly after individuality.
