Geocache Description:

Please use a bit of muscle to open and close the container. You're not going to hurt anything so some force is a good thing.

As you drive along Flinders Ranges Way you might notice that the Pichi Richi Railway line twists and turns sharply. Back in the day when the line was operated by the former Central Australia Railway & Transcontinental lines, trains would speed around these bends. Sometimes the jolting and jarring was so sharp that passengers' luggage in the guard's van would be shaken loose and on rare occasions it would be propelled far out the door into the bush! Understandably this made passengers who lost their luggage very unhappy. One of the worst affected was holidaying retired British soldier Kenneth Baker. He lost his passport and other personal papers stored in a metal document box stored in the guards van.

Lost Luggage is hidden not far off an unsealed road about 7 km south-west of Quorn Railway Station. There's safe, road-side parking near GZ. The cache contains a log, a pen and a pencil. You're welcome to leave swag. Please remember the geocaching rule: Only take swag if you swap it for something of equal or greater value. Happy Geocaching!

FTF honor goes to e.gregory1 on 24th February 2021.
