The world is full of secrets. This is one. All across Los Angeles County are secret stairs like these, built decades ago to allow residents a safe, traffic-free shortcut from street to street.
Taking the full tour of three caches as I have intended it, on foot, will involve walking only 2/3 of a mile round trip to your car, but around 500 stairs, some going up but hey, some coming down too. 😊 These shady stairways are a unique experience.
PLEASE NOTE THE PARKING AND THE STARTING WAYPOINTS PROVIDED FOR AFFAIR I.
Starting with Stair Affair I on foot will naturally leave you in position to go after II and III in order. Please cache quietly and respect the neighbors' privacy. The stairs can be busy on weekends with people exercising, and there are often windows above you, so use stealth.
Congrats to Eagle Rock Rob for FTF!
DIRECTION TIP: On foot, once you snag cache I, continue uphill, then down the stairs to Tamarac Drive. Here the next stairs for cache II aren't visible. Walk left (NE) on Tamarac about 30 feet and you will see them to your right behind bushes.
