Geocache Description:

We have been exploring local places to walk along the urban Wolf River with our caching bestie, GeoCassi, and have discovered the Wolf River Greenway at Epping Way.  This is a nice, but isolated section of the Wolf River Greenway.  This trail is a t-shaped path of 2.1 miles (we walked the unpaved portion along the Wolf River to the East after walking to Highland to the West, and the roundtrip was 2.8 miles).

In addition to the main paved path that is being expanded, it appears that nature trails are also being created to explore around the lake and adjacent natural area.  This trail will eventually connect to the other sections of the Wolf River Greenway to make a 36-mile continuous, paved path along the Wolf River thanks to the efforts of the Wolf River Conservancy. The 2 bridges on this section were built in 2017, and there is construction equipment onsite where they are expanding Eastward along James Rd.

The trailhead is off Epping Way accessed from Austin Peay Highway via James Rd.  There is street parking at the trailhead - don't visit this area alone.  Perhaps there is a Wolf River Greenway Ambassador here during warmer times but it is very desolate in the winter, and the parking area does not feel very secure.

Interesting the things you find...

The cache is a magnetic box, bring your own pen.
