Haslach wurde das erste Mal um 1200 genannt. Von Haslach erhielt die am Hang des Kohlererbergs gelegene Haselburg ihren Namen, 1237 wurden deren Herren als „Ulricus de Haselberg“ erstmals erwähnt. Später ging die Burg in den Besitz der Herren von Küepach über. Heute ist der Küepachweg eine der längsten Straßen Bozens, er führt quer durchs Viertel von dem Virgltunnel bis zur Haselburg hinauf.
Während die Anhöhen rund um Haslach schon früh besiedelt wurden, war der Talgrund lange sumpfig. Lediglich an den Hängen gab es einige wenige Bauernhöfe, wie den Unterzallinger, Zobl, Hasenhof, Besenbinder und Bamrieser. Zwischen 1849 und 1911 gehörte das Viertel zur Landgemeinde Zwölfmalgreien, ehe diese von Bozen eingemeindet wurde.
1944/45 mussten Häftlinge des nationalsozialistischen Durchgangslagers Bozen Zwangsarbeit im Virgltunnel leisten. An ihr Schicksal erinnert seit 2005 ein Mahnmal nördlich des Sportplatzes. (Ausgangspunkt des Rundgangs). Nach 1960 begann eine rege Bautätigkeit und aus dem ruhigen Haslach wurde ein belebtes Stadtviertel von Bozen. Städtebaulich herausragend war dabei die von Othmar Barth entworfene Wohnsiedlung (sogenannte Legohäuser) mit bis zu zwölfstöckigen Gebäudegruppen.

“Haslach” (Aslago) è stato menzionato per la prima volta intorno al 1200. Il Castel Flavon (Haselburg), situato sul pendio del Colle, prende il nome da Haslach e nel 1237 i suoi signori furono nominati per la prima volta "Ulricus de Haselberg". In seguito il castello divenne proprietà dei signori di Küepach. Oggi la via Castel Flavon è una delle strade più lunghe di Bolzano, conduce attraverso il quartiere dalla galleria del virgolo fino al castello.
Mentre le colline intorno ad Aslago furono colonizzate presto, il fondovalle fu per lungo tempo paludoso. Solo sulle pendici c'erano pochi masi, come l'Unterzallinger, il Zobl, il Hasenhof, il Besenbinder e il Bamrieser. Tra il 1849 e il 1911 il quartiere appartenne alla comunità rurale Dodiciville (Zwölfmalgreien) prima di essere incorporato nel comune di Bolzano.
Nel 1944/45 i prigionieri del campo di transito nazionalsocialista di Bolzano dovettero svolgere i lavori forzati nella galleria del Virgolo. Un memoriale a nord del campo sportivo, inaugurato nell'anno 2005, ricorda il loro destino. (punto di partenza del tour). Dopo il 1960 iniziò l'attività edilizia e il tranquillo Aslago divenne un vivace quartiere di Bolzano. Il complesso residenziale progettato da Othmar Barth con gruppi di edifici fino a dodici piani era un'eccezionale pianificazione urbana.

Haslach was mentioned for the first time around 1200. The Haselburg, situated on the slope of the Kohlererberg, got its name from Haslach. In 1237, its lords were first mentioned as "Ulricus de Haselberg". Later the castle became the property of the Lords of Küepach. Today the Küepachweg is one of the longest streets in Bozen/Bolzano, it leads straight through the district from the Virgltunnel up to the Haselburg.
While the hills around Haslach were settled early on, the valley floor was swampy for a long time. There were only a few farms on the slopes, such as the Unterzallinger, Zobl, Hasenhof, Besenbinder and Bamrieser. Between 1849 and 1911, the quarter belonged to the rural community of Zwölfmalgreien before it was incorporated into Bozen/Bolzano.
