Spring 2015 Dr. Rich Trail Mix
Spring 2017 Dr. Rich Trail Mix
Please join us for the Fall 2021 Dr. James R. Rich WMA Trail Mix. There will be plenty of fun for those of you cachers who like to hike in the wilderness and enjoy cedar trees (we know you like to keep a low profile but we know who you are). There will be a few giveaways, as well as a few breakfast items. We will have water and coffee, but please bring your own beverages for the hike, as well as lunch if you are planning on spending the day on the trails.
The Dr. James R. Rich WMA lies just north of Kleber WMA and is 1,704 acres in size. For those of you who are Kentucky WMA history buffs, it is named after the long time Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife director James R. Rich. Owen County has a high concentration of deer, turkey and squirrel. The habitat is mostly forested. It contains steep hillsides, ridgetop and floodplains with a combination of woods, brush and grasslands. It can be accessed by KY 227, KY 1474 and Red Oak Road. An online map of the Dr. Rich WMA is located at this URL: -https://fw.ky.gov/More/Documents/Dr.JamesR.RichWMA_ALL.pdf.
