It's been a couple of years since I hiked or biked around the shores of Castaic Lake, but the warm February weather and ample free time—since the government shut down my business of thirty years and forced me into involuntary retirement—meant it was a perfect time to grab some area caches. I brought along an extra cache just in case I found a worthwhile spot that I couldn't resist. Which I did. And I couldn't. So there you go.
Enjoy watching the fishermen and skiers below, and grabbing the nearby finds if you haven't already. It's not a long hike, but always prepare adequately. Snakes, ticks, and scratchy-pokey bits abound. Cache is a simple square poly jar painted to blend in a bit. If you get this from the beach, give yourself four stars and consult mental health professionals as soon as possible.
