Geocache Description:

Ye Olde Yellow Meeting House is one of the oldest buildings in Dracut, Massachusetts and is the center of Dracut. Through the centuries this building has been used for town meetings, town functions and as the Congregational Church.   Dracut was incorporated in 1701 under Colonial Law, which mandates that a newly incorporated or settled town is obligated to provide a minister and hold regular religious services. The first church in Dracut was organized in 1711, the second building was built in 1754 and the third building was built in 1794.  Ye Olde Yellow Meeting House erected in 1794, is currently known as Christ Church United. Timbers from 1794 still form the framework of the present church sanctuary. Most people refer to the church as the Yellow Meeting House.

Have a seat and enjoy the surroundings or just enjoy the structure of this over 300 year old church.

If the gate is down on the Arlington Street side, drive around to the other side of the church, Bridge Street, for easy access.

Congratulations to SuretteFam for FTF!!
