West Arm Provincial Park
24 kms N.E. of Nelson take the Harrop/Procter ferry across the Kootenay River.
"West Arm Provincial Park", one of the West Kootenays best kept secrets, is an undeveloped 25,319 hectare park that extends along
the shores of Kootenay Lake from Nelson to Harrop. The park contains a diverse range of habitats from lakeshore to subalpine. Recreation Opportunities include wildlife viewing, hiking, skiing,
watersports, canoeing, and kayaking. The historic Lasca Creek Trail is one of several hiking opportunities in the park.
We wanted folks to get out and take a hike in the park. Although there are many amazing views you can only get small glimpses of them through the trees. Your walk will be just over 2 kms each way but it is on a fairly level road, except for the last few 100 meters as we were trying to get a little bit more elevation in order to see the views of the Kootenay West Arm.
You are looking for a Bison tube just off of the new road put in for "tree removal for fire prevention".
