Hendrix Creek Preserve
Hendrix Creek Preserve (HCP) is an 18 acre environment dedicated to conservation management. The preserve provides storm water management to prevent flooding within a 500 acre watershed area within the city of Conway. A series of trails and boardwalks winds through the preserve that lead along the creek, a playground, and eventually to the baseball fields. The preserve is primarily reserved for native Arkansas species. Hendrix College uses the Preserve as an outdoor classroom for its students. The HCP is a collaborative project involving the leadership of The Village at Hendrix, Southwestern Energy, environmental studies and biology faculty, environmental engineers, and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
The Cache
The Wherigo cartridge will direct you to the Trail's starting point and require you to answer two questions from information provided on signs. Then you will be guided to the cache location and hints will be provided as you arrive at ground zero to find a signable log. You should also obtain a completion code for uploading your results to the Wherigo site.Â
The cartridge may be downloaded here.
I have tested the cartridge on a smartphone and GPS receiver with the Wherigo app, but this is my first cartridge, so I hope you enjoy and find the cache. There are typically other nice caches in the HCP, so you can hunt other caches as well.Â
Cartridge Revision 1 - revised cartridge on 5-16-21 based on finder's feedback for a better experience. The original cartridge will still take you to the cache. You can download the Wherigo app to your smartphone from wherever you get apps. Once you find the cache, save the completion code if you wish to log on Wherigo.com.
Congratulations to brudderman for the First to Find!
