Geocache Description:

Alojzij Grozde was born on 27 May 1923 in Zgornje Vodale near Tržišče in the Dolenjska region to his mother Marija Grozde and father Franc Udovč as an illegitimate child. The mother worked as a moneylender. In 1927 she married Franc Kovač, but Lojze was not allowed to marry and not to the new mother's home; he had to stay with relatives even though he wanted to see his mother. Later, as Lojze progressed in school, his stepfather became more sympathetic to him.

After his mother's wedding, he was taken care of by Aunt Ivanka. She made sure that after school she went to study in Ljubljana, where she went to work on her own. The benefactors helped her so that Lojze could study. He lived in the student institution Marijanišče and attended the classical grammar school, where he was an excellent student. In high school, he established himself as a literary creator. He became a member of the Catholic Student Action and participated in the institute group of the Congregation of Mary. The last years of high school were the years of the approaching world war. The situation worsened when the war broke out. For Lojze, the time has come for a personal professional decision. He did not engage in daily politics, but sought his way in prayer, which he combined with work for others.

Pri njem so našli latinski misal, molitvenik Tomaža Kempčana Hoja za Kristusom in knjižico o Fatimi. Z zasliševanjem so nadaljevali v bližnji gostilni. Grozdeta so sumili za vojnega obveščevalca in ovaduha (zaradi italijanske dovolilnice in verske literature). Po mučenju in hitrem sojenju je bil Grozde usmrčen. Njegovo truplo so 23. februarja našli šolarji. Pokopali so ga na pokopališču v Šentrupertu, saj ga zaradi razmer tistih dni ni bilo mogoče peljati v domačo župnijo Tržišče.

During the holidays, before his last high school year, he did not return home as there was more and more violence there and visits were not easy. Despite well-intentioned warnings, he decided to visit and applied for a permit. He left Ljubljana at the end of 1943. He first visited a friend in Struga. On Friday, January 1, 1943, he attended a mass at the Stična Cistercian monastery, after which he took a train from Ivančna Gorica to Trebnje. There he learned that he could not continue by train because the line was damaged, so he wanted to go to Mirna on foot. On the way, he landed on a cart. At the first house on Mirna, he was captured by a partisan guard. They found a Latin missal, Tomaž Kempčan's prayer book Walking after Christ and a booklet about Fatima. The interrogation continued at a nearby inn. Grozdet was suspected of being a war informant and an informant (because of the Italian permit and religious literature). After torture and a speedy trial, Grozde was executed. His body was found by schoolchildren on February 23. He was buried in the cemetery in Šentrupert, as it was not possible to take him to his home parish of Tržišče due to the situation in those days.

Vsebnik je skrit na mestu, kjer so Grozdeta našli. The container is hidden in the place where Grozde was found.
