Geocache Description:



This is the true story of the blair witch.

Parking: N 39* 23.403 / W 077* 38.575.

I once read in a local ghost story book that this old road, now cache site, once beared the story of the blair witch.

This was a main road traveled daily to deliver goods from Burkittsville to Brownsville and towns beyond. Sometimes the road was even travelled at night. Men with horse drawn carts would set off, and under the blanket of the night they would get looted and murdered. Once the sun rose and the towns began to fill with life the horses would wander down into town with an empty cart and the travelers were never to be found. Rather than go into the woods and investigate the towns-people came up with the story of the blair witch and so the tale was born.
