Welcome to Fightertown, USA. This cartridge will guide you around San Diego county, setting for the 1986 Paramount blockbuster Top Gun. At each filming location, a character will test your movie trivia knowledge. Do you have what it takes? If so, don your Ray-bans, revv your sportbike, and enjoy the sights!
The cache is not at the posted coordinates. In order to find it, you'll need to complete a Wherigo cartridge of the same name. Click here to go to the cartridge page on the Wherigo.com site. You will need a device that is Wherigo capable like a Garmin Colorado or an Apple iPhone with the Wherigo Player iOS app installed.
The iOS Wherigo app is your best bet. There may be some difficulty running this cartridge on Android devices. I can't get my Pocket PC to load carts either. If any of these situations apply to you, message me for alternate instructions to find this cache.
This Wherigo was designed as a sustainable replacement for the "Top Gun:" traditional geocache series. Several new locations are unsuitable for physical containers, and this format is easier for an active duty U.S. Navy sailor to maintain. If you wish to find the original series, click below:

Checkpoints 1-5 are located around San Diego. Checkpoint 6 and the final cache are located in Oceanside. This cartridge type will only conduct the tour in it's preset order. As Google Maps estimates the best route at 47.9 miles, this Wherigo is best played on a leisurely afternoon with light traffic. Good luck and have fun!
