Geocache Description:

Park hours are from 6 a.m. until one hour past sunset.  Absolutely NO night caching!

The posted coordinates will take you to a sign at the trail head for the
Schleman Nature Preserve.
There is no geocache/letterbox at this location!
You must find this letterbox/geocache by following the instructions below:

Round trip distance from the parking area is approximately one mile.
Trails may be muddy at certain times of year or if there have been recent rains, so please wear appropriate footwear.

Bug spray is recommended during the summer months.

Please bring a pen with you to sign the log.

Ready?-- Let's go!

*  Walk through the evergreen forest.  Just before you emerge from the evergreens, take the trail that is to your left.

*  You will pass a bench, and a bit later will cross over a small bridge, and then another longer one.

*  Continue on as the path winds through the woods until you reach a fork in the trail.  Take the trail to the left.

* A short distance later, you will see this tree in the middle of the path.

*  When you pass this tree, count out 150 steps and stop.  Look to your right, and you may be able to see this oddly shaped tree trunk that is about 80' from the path.

(This picture was taken from the trail.)

*  60 steps later you will see a tree that is beside the path with a fallen log next to it.

The letterbox is tucked away at the base of this tree.

If you have passed the bench, you have gone too far.

Please be stealthy when retrieving the letterbox/geocache.  Look both ways on the trail to be sure no one is watching!

There is a rubber stamp inside this container. IT IS NOT SWAG! Please do not take it!
Letterboxers, please bring your own ink. There is no ink pad in the container.

* After signing the log, swapping some SWAG, and stamping your letterboxing book (if you have one),
you may return to the starting point.  Before you leave, please camouflage the letterbox with natural material so that it is not visible.

*  Continue down the path, turning right at the intersection, and proceed until you see a bench and then a bridge.

*  Cross over the bridge that is on your left, and pass the huge bur oak tree.

The evergreen forest and parking area is only a short distance ahead.

This geocache is placed with permission of the Medina County Parks, permit #186.
