Geocache Description:

This series of 7 caches takes you around Branton Hill in Aldridge. ( Tweezers required for some to retrieve the log). The walk can be completed in about an hour and fifteen minutes, but allow extra time to find the caches and to admire some of the views at various points along the way.    The route circuits Branton Hill Quarry, and the worked sandstone can be seen along the way.  Perhaps much of this sand has ended up in the bricks that Aldridge has produced and is well known for.  Do not be put off following the route between caches BH6 and BH7.  It almost seems as if you are trespassing across fields and onto the Quarry there, but it is actually public right of way.  Just heed any warning signs of course.  There are three caches placed along roadside footpaths, while four are placed on rural footpaths which are not suitable for pushchairs.

If you wish to park, you can begin the walk at Branton Hill Lane N 52°36.067’ W 001°54.489’ (WS9 0NR), Green Lane N 52°36.055’ W 001°53.569’ (WS9 0LN) or at Wm. Wheat & Son Garden Centre N 52°35.835’ W 001°53.539’ (WS9 0PU).

Here at 1BH you have views looking to the south east towards Branton Hill.  Although marked on the map as a hill it would be hardly classed as such by any avid hillwalkers.  It is of most note for the Sand Workings, of which you can make out away over the fields.  You can also see the railway line running from Sutton Coldfield to Aldridge.  Behind you and across Little Aston Road lies Aldridge Court Nursing Home and fields containing horses and stables.
