Geocache Description:

HERE WE GO!!!! LET'S GO FIND THAT GEOCACHE!

Welcome to Stockton State Park. Ahead of you is Adventure, Excitement, and just plain CRAZY! But not really too crazy because this is a family friendly outdoor type of thing to do. At the listed coodinates I have hidden a container. It's a recycled ammo container marked and labled so as not to alarm any muggle that may happen across this prize. It has a few things inside that you may keep if you want but please leave something in trade. You don't have to trade just find the cache and sign your name to the log book inside and return the container where you found it. Because afterall the fun is in the hunt!

This Cache is placed along an old farm road north of the Campground Spur Trail. As you are getting closer to the cache you'll notice the older trees give way to younger trees and more under brush growth. The road was abbonded sometime in the 70s. You can walk along this old road path strait to your prize. After you find the geocache look back up the way you came. You will really be able to see the eveidence of the old road. As you explore the trails in the park keep your eyes open for more evedence of the old farms that once lived here before the lake was made.

If you did have fun there's almost 30 geocaches in the boundries of Stockton State Park for you to track down. Some easy. Some Hard.

Below is some dos and don't rules to follow while geocaching in the park. Please respect the park and everyone's efforts to keep your time here enjoyable.

Parking and trailheads: Please only park at designated parking areas and do not drive down service roads. Please do not bushwack from day use areas. You don't want to go stomping through a habitat rehab area. Parking on the side of park roads can get you a ticket from the rangers (I have proof). Listed is the nearest Lakeview trail trailhead and parking coordinates in the waypoints. Trail maps for all trails are located at the park office and all trailheads. If you see a sign that says "Authorizzed vehicles only" that does NOT mean your geo-ride.

The Lakeview Trail is the longest hiking trail in Stockton State Park. The Trail is a loop trail with a total hike of 8 miles with an estimated time of 6 hours. Thers a connector trail to shorten the hike halfway through the trail near the park office. There is also a .3 spur trail that gives hikers easy foot access to the campgrounds. The Umber ridge and Lakeview run together for a little more than a mile. Snakes, ticks, mosquitos, aramdillos, skunks, and other wildlife on the trail.

This trail is open Sunrise to Sunset. Please park in approved areas only and stick to the trail as much as possible.

This geocache, location and container, has been approved by Kenny Neal, Natural Resource Manager Southwest Management Unit Missouri State Parks. Approved permit and photos of the container and location are on file with the state park's office.

If this container goes missing please do not replace.
